Holland Marine Equipment is a dynamic trade association that strives for the most competitive position possible for the Dutch maritime supplier industry. Holland Marine Equipment Association has over 275 members - suppliers of systems and components for shipbuilding, shipping and offshore activities, or as technological service providers to these sectors.
The association is the face of the Dutch maritime supplier industry. In discussion with the government and the press, we provide information about and lobby on behalf of the sector. Holland Marine Equipment Association is an active participant in the Dutch Maritime Network and a co-founder of the European trade organisation EMEC (European Marine Equipment Council).
We offer our members a network of expertise related to maritime matters and keep the industry updated on all developments in the field of shipping. Via our subsidiary HME, the association also offers a selection of activities in the fields of innovation, international trade and export, knowledge transfer and special events. Our philosophy revolves around three terms: ‘No nonsense’, ‘dynamic’ and ‘maritime’.
The board of directors consists of members elected for a period of three years at a time. They are chosen based upon motivation and individual contribution, not the size of their companies. This ensures that we always remain a dynamic association, with new ideas and an entrepreneurial spirit. The current chairman is Pim van Gulpen, and vice chairman is Fred van Beers of Wärtsilä Netherlands BV.
Holland Shipbuilding Association
Holland Shipbuilding Association is the central organisation of the Netherlands’ Shipbuilding Industry Association (VNSI) and Holland Marine Equipment Association (HME). Holland Shipbuilding Association represents the interests of the Dutch maritime industries. In January 2008 the new association has seen daylight. It represents a total maritime turnover of € 8.8 billion, an export volume of € 5.3 billion, and a combined direct workforce of over 37,500 people. Holland Shipbuilding Association offers expertise in the fields of innovation policy, finance, environmental and health & safety policy, subsidies, European affairs, government policy, public relations, marketing, and branch matters.
